Ingredients:
- Rava(semolina) 1 cup
- Yogurt(a little sour is good) 1 cup
- Water 1/2 cup
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp chopped
- Soda 1/2 tsp
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves 5-6 chopped
- Bengal gram (chana dal) 1 tsp
- Black gram (urad dal) 1 tsp
- Cashew nuts 4-5 chopped
- Green chili 1 fine chopped
Preparation :
- Heat oil. Add mustard and cumin seeds. When they stop crackling, add chana dal,urad dal, green chilli, curry leaves, fry a little, do not let it brown.
- Add chopped cashew nuts and semolina, roast them a bit. Let it cool down
- In a bowl add roasted rava, yogurt, salt, chopped coriander and mix well to form a thick batter without lumps.
- Check consistency. Add a little water if needed. The batter should be of pouring consistency. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Just before making idli, add the soda and mix well.
- Add a ladleful of batter into a idli plates. Steam in a steamer for 15 minutes
